Learnerships @ Iemas?

History and Track Record
Apart from the normal internal training and skills development opportunities and study bursaries for staff members, Iemas has been proudly and successfully involved with learnerships since 2002. This offers staff members, but more particularly external beneficiaries (unemployed people), the opportunity to obtain a formal national qualification while also gaining very valuable and relevant work experience through a structured workplace component facilitated by Iemas as employer.

We have had a total of 75 intakes over the years, in the following learnerships:

Credit
Short Term Insurance
Asset Based Finance
Payroll Administration
Contact Centre Support
Contact Centre Supervising
Project Management
General Management
Internal Auditing
IT: Systems Development
IT: Systems Support

From these intakes, a total of 54 (72%) learners successfully graduated from the learnerships, while 7 are currently still enrolled. From the 54 graduates 40 (74%) secured permanent employment at Iemas and three further developed their careers into management positions.

Iemas is always looking out for opportunities to develop our staff members. In 2009 we received funding from Bankseta for 11 staff members to participate in the following learnerships:

We were privileged to be selected as a host employer for learnerships that were funded by Services SETA in 2008. This allowed us to nominate fulltime employees to participate in the following learnerships:
